Personlized Applications in a Growing Market
In the second term of COSIMA 2 the subject of personalised applications in the area of e-commerce is focused on online portals for tourism. From the economical point of view this choice is motivated by statements of well-known institutions of market research. For example, in Europe the volume of online trades is assessed to be around 167 billion euro in the year 2009.

Individuelle Reisezusammenstellung
A big part of it will compromise the sales volume made by selling travels. Especially, low cost airlines are supposed to sell tickets to their customers directly by the internet. Though, customers appreciate an intuitive and pleasing interface with interactive elements and personalised customer support instead of standardised products.

An individual and flexible combination of the components of a travel, e.g. flight, hotel and a hired car, overwhelms the capabilities of present online portals.

From the scientific point of view the problem is based on the combination of individual customer preferences regarding soft and hard constraints in order to efficiently deliver best possible offers.
